Sažetak
Responding to the question: "Why the Church is again discussing the sacrament of reconciliation and penance", the author analyzes the mystery of reconciliation in the Holy Bible and the history of salvation to illuminate the role of the Church in the process. Special emphasis is placed on highlighting awareness of today's Christians as closely linked to the crisis of the sacrament of reconciliation. Analyzing the theological characteristics built into the new Order of Penance, the author emphasizes ecclesial vision and new pastoral possibilities offered.
