Preferable personal and professional characteristics of the supervisors from the perspective of the supervised from social care system

Sažetak
The paper presents the results of qualitative research which aim was to gain insight into the experience of the importance of personal and professional characteristics of the supervisors from the perspective of the supervised, which may influence their choice of supervisors, but also on the supervisory process and general experts involvement in
the supervised supervision. The study included sixteen professional workers employed in social welfare institutions in Krapinsko - Zagorska County. Data were collected by semi-structured interviews, and analyzed bythematic analysis. Interviewed experts presented their own view of desirable and less desirable personal and professional
characteristics of supervisors, and brought out that information that they would like to find out throught presentation of supervisors. When experts talk about the desirable characteristics of supervisors allocate the themes of the maturity of supervisors, relation to others, appearance, gender, characteristics of voice and positive attitude
of supervisors. The desirable characteristics that describe the professional themes are education in supervision, possessing professional competencies, supervisory experience, communication skills, preferred communication style, management skills, care for
the supervised and the relations and streamlining the process of resolving problem situations. The contribution of this research is to gain insight into the supervised reflection on the characteristics of supervisors in order to raise awareness about the importance of supervisors of personal and professional characteristics that supervisor
entered the group, and the essential elements on which the supervisor should take into account when presenting the supervised.
