Sažetak

70 workmen, who had been exposed to excessive noise, were examined. It was found that all workmen (100%) had impaired hearing. Out of these 70 workmen, 51 suffered from professional deafness, 10 from a combination of deafness and an adhesive proces in the middle ear. and 4 from head trauma. Objective symptoms: 11 worken had no disturbances, 59 complained to be hard of hearing, of having the feeling of being deafened, of ringing and humming in the ears. Audiometric examination showed the average loss of hearing in all workmen amounting to 15-50 decibels with scotoma at the frequency of 4000 sec.-1 Occupational deafness was bilateral, symetrical, had the character of perceptive deafness, and the air-line was above the bone line. Workmen with adhesive process in the middle ear had slighter injuries, while those with a purulent inflamation of the middle car had considerable injuries of the middle ear
