Sažetak

It is one of the tasks of the teaching of the Croatian language, literature, drama and film to »involve students in spoken communication in the literary language« and develop their »linguistic sensibility«. How much room is left for the Kaj- kavian idiom, and with what justification? Is it true that in modern elementary school practice »local idiom and dialect do not stop before the closed school door«, to quote Simlesa?
