Sažetak

Addressed in the paper is the protection of IT equipment, personal computers and servers from possible causes of fire and the ways to prevent fire. Useful guidelines are offered as to the construction of building server centres, along with technical and construction solutions for fire prone sectors in server rooms and their appropriate fire protection. Passive and active fire protection measures are offered, including the types of fire alarms and methods of fire extinguishing, with the list of those that should be avoided and those that are recommended for use.
