Sažetak
This study tested a total of 50 cow serum samples from a single dairy farm with 1500 animals. Tested cows were not vaccinated but showed clinical signs indicating BHV-1 infection and/or BVDV infection. Serum samples were tested with the virus-neutralization test for the presence of neutralising antibodies for the two mentioned viruses. The presence of BHV-1 antibodies was observed in 47 serum samples, therefore the seroprevalence for this virus was 94%. Antibodies for BVDV were found in 49 serum samples and the seroprevalence was
98%. Antibodies for both viruses (BHV-1 and BVDV) were found in 92% of serum samples. Connections were found between the sort of viral infection and the presented clinical signs. There was a correlation between BHV-1 and the occurrence of mastitis and pneumonia. Correlations were also found between BVDV and stillbirth, stuntedness, abortion, rumination issues and diarrhoea.
