Development of Museum of Croatian Firefighting

Sažetak

This paper presents a plan for the development of the Museum of Croatian Firefighting, which has been part of the Croatian Firefigting Association since 2014. The museum is located in Varaždin. This work is a summary of the document called Development Plan of the Museum of Croatian Firefighting for the period 2019 to 2022. The introductory part shows the work of the Museum so far with statistics on the number of museum exhibits, visits and the number of exhibitions held and other events. The problems that the Museum has encountered in its work to date have been highlighted, ranging from resolving the museum status, ie harmonizing work with the Ministry of Culture regulations related to the museum profession to lack of staff and lack of space for work. Further development is based on the extension of the Museum to the building currently used by the Proffessional Fire Department of the City of Varaždin, which would solve all the shortcomings hitherto. The work concludes with an overview of the goals to be achieved in the coming period, in order for the Museum to continue its successful work.
