A step towards the semantic web : the possibility of structuring data in authority records in a NUL name authority file

Sažetak
The paper presents name authority records of a NUL authority file and their data which is necessary for clear and unambiguous identification of persons, families and corporate bodies/meetings in authority files. Authority records enriched with biographical data and identifiers that are presented in a simple manner in specific areas are much easier then entering data into the free formatted text. Also, they facilitate for catalogers to use data for the purpose of searching, linking records to other systems such as VIAF or ISNI, and ultimately enhance and extend the existing possibilities of an authority file. The paper will discuss FRAD model on records in MARC 21 records, it will address the recommendations which are made at VIAFC, relating to the participation of libraries in VIAF and a way of structuring records. Ultimately, all this will contribute that NUL authority records become a part of semantic web.
