Waste-water treatment based on active sludge

Sažetak

The selection of an active-sludge-based waste water purification device for the communities of Bokšić and Šaptinovci, situated in the Đurđenovac district, was used as an example for analyzing and defining advantages and drawbacks of small waste water processing devices. It was established that the activesludge- based devices are more appropriate for remote and smaller communities of 500 to 2000 EP, principally because of better purification capability, which is of high significance in water protection areas. Principal components and operating principles of waste water treatment devices based on active sludge are described.
