Canon Visitations at the Diocesan Archives in Đakovo

Sažetak
Canon visitations make a smaller collection, occupying 2,5 meters of the total space at the Diocesan Archives in Ðakovo. Only one list of visitations has been made up to now, at the beginning of the 20th century, but it has never been published anywhere. There have been certain attempts to file and describe the condition of the canon visitations at the Diocesan Archive in Ðakovo. As the complete and accurate list hasn’t been made, and visitations have often been required by researchers, this list was made for the employees and researchers, so that they know what is there, what to look for at the Diocesan Archives in Ðakovo. The review thus contains canon visitations kept at the Diocesan Archives, organized according to parishes and towns of the Diocese of Ðakovo, or of Bosnia and Srijem. It is important to point out that some visitations were created in the time of the Diocese of Srijem, some in the time when it was the Diocese of Ðakovo and Bosnia, but majority has its origin in the Diocese of Ðakovo, Bosnia and Srijem (since 1773 when the Diocese of Srijem and the Diocese of Ðakovo and Bosnia were united into one). It is also of great importance to point out that there were some hardships in the process of development of the review of visitations, for, throughout the history the centers of parishes, as well as those of subsidiary parishes, even the names of towns and villages were changed. The list is thus not final, because the collection of canon visitations has not been completed yet.
