Sažetak
The following three Austrian underground structures are presented: Mönchsberg car park and city railway in Salzburg, and metro in Vienna.Challenges relating to the design, construction and maintenance of the two facilities situated in Salzburg are described.The construction phasing data, as well as the construction and maintenance costs, are given.The construction of the metro segment U2/2 in Vienna is described, and a special emphasis is placed on the method that was used to deal with ownership rights.The two-directional tunnelling technology is presented.
