Sažetak The secondary-school fourth-grade Croatian language curriculum includes
the fundamentals of the lexicology, lexicography and history of the Croatian language
of the 20th century. The lexicology strand also comprises the phraseology, which the
pupils at the "Matija Mesić" Secondary School in Slavonski Brod have always found
interesting. The pupils working in groups applied their knowledge of the Croatian
phraseology and phrases to their written and oral phraseological exercises with
reference to some frequent phrases in Croatian, English, German, French and Latin.
The quick and creative solution to the problems shows that these pphrases are
interesting, topical and normally used by the pupils from Slavonski Brod.
