Sažetak

This book is published in 2008 and brings together the result of the research conducted by a number of scholars in the context of EU-CONSENT-a “Network of Excellence” funded under European Union’s 6th Framework Programme for Research and Development. The EU CONSENT network integrates a broad range of research communities, including individual experts, universities, research institutes and networks involved in research on widening and deepening of the European Union. The network is coordinated by professor Wolfgang Wessels from University of Cologne. This book comprises of 13 chapters and 11 contributions (without the conclusion and the introduction) and it is written by total of 15 distinguished academic contributors. The chapters are offering evaluations in the context of the EU’s main institutional actors - European Council, Council of Ministers, European Commission, European Parliament, European Court of Justice, European central Bank, European Economic and Social Committee, Committee of Regions - as well as an assessment of trends in the rules and practices governing interaction between these EU public bodies, as well as between them and national and private actors.This book in addition of being remarkable academic reading contributes, on highest scholarly level, in furthering of our understanding of performance of the EU institutions which is essential for practitioners and researchers in the midst of the institutional crisis.
