Contribution to the History of the Brass Bands in the City of Križevci until the Year 1982

Sažetak

Thanks to the former Music Institute as the precursor of the present School of Music Albert Štriga, but also the excellent experts, who had come to the city under the mountain of Kalnik from reputable European conservatoires in order to teach and guide future musicians, musicians receive an organized education in Križevci for over 170 years. Four Tzech bandmasters arrived in Križevci with the diploma of the conservatoire in Prag, and one Polish with the diploma of the conservatoire in Berlin. After World War I, numerous Tzechs were hired in the public services of Križevci under the condition that they play in the City Brass Band. A rich musical heritage was created and a musical culture, promoted by orchestras, bands and choirs was achieved.
