About the Journal
Povijesni prilozi (Historical Contributions) is an academic journal that publishes research results in the field of history and auxiliary historical disciplines from antiquity to the early 20th century. The journal features the outcomes of research projects conducted by the Croatian Institute of History, as well as articles of scholarly content from other authors in Croatia and abroad. The journal includes the following categories of articles: original research papers, preliminary communications, review articles, conference proceedings, and expert articles. In addition to these works, the journal publishes reviews and critiques of books and periodicals, announcements, notes, and similar content.
An editor may reject an article without external review if he or she believes the topic of the article lies beyond the focus of the journal, if the author does not respect ethical norms, if the article is of poor quality, or if it does not meet the conditions for sending articles to the journal. The editorial board secures two independent peer reviews for each article that passes editorial evaluation.
The journal adheres to the principle of double-blind peer review, which involves maintaining the anonymity of the authors' identities to the reviewers and vice versa throughout the entire review process.
Prospective authors are encouraged to send their articles through journal's web site via Open Journal System (OJS) at https://hrcak.srce.hr/ojs/index.php/povijesni-prilozi/index (view About/Submissions at the top of this page or clik the Make a Submission on the right side of the page).
