Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The article has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication in another journal. Otherwise, please provide details in the 'Comments to the Editor' section.
  • All information regarding the identity and affiliation of the author has been removed from the article. Any directly personal references, as well as acknowledgements to those who may have read the paper before the submission have been excluded during the submission process. The title of the submitted file does not include author's name.
  • The article has been submitted in accordance with the stylistic and bibliographic guidelines outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The article does not exceed a length of more than 15,000 words, including footnotes and appendix, with a font size of 12 and a 1.5 line spacing. In footnotes, the font size should be 10, with single spacing. Bibliographic information is written in Roman script. When necessary, URL links are provided in the footnotes, as well as references to the DOI number for articles equipped with one.
  • The article includes an abstract of 50 to 70 words in length and a summary of 250 to 350 words in length.

Author Guidelines

The journal Povijesni prilozi uses the Open Journal System for the submission of articles and the peer review process. The journal uses the Chicago citation style adapted to the Croatian language for writing notes and bibliography. We kindly ask authors to follow the Author Guidelines  during submission; otherwise, the submission will not be accepted. The journal accepts articles up to 15,000 words, including notes, tables, graphics, and other attachments. If the article exceeds this limit, authors are encouraged to contact the editorial board. Authors are also requested to provide a short and extended abstract, as well as keywords, during submission. The journal conducts the review process through a double-blind peer review, and authors are advised to remove all authorship and affiliation details as well as any information in the footnotes that may indicate the author's identity before submission.

Papers published in Historical Contributions may be stored in institutional and thematic repositories, provided that links to the journal's website and HRČAK are provided.
