This paper presents an analysis of the marginal notes of the cartulary of the Diocese of Zagreb - Liber privilegiorum episcopatus Zagrabiensis. Written in the middle of the 14th century in Gothic script and Latin language, this codex has about 700 marginalia, which are divided into two large groups: primary (notes of the scribe, contemporary with the creation of the codex) and secondary (notes added after its creation). The marginalia are written in Latin script and language; those that consist exclusively of stating the year are recorded in Arabic numerals. Although few, the primary notes can contribute to the historiographical interpretation of the origin of the cartulary, talking about the scribal practice and education of its compiler. Secondary marginalia, written in the codex from the 15th to the 20th century, are the work of a large number of authors. Bringing very diverse content, they speak of the long-term use of this cartulary, providing an insight into the history of its research.
The work includes a graphic representation of the classification of all marginal notes of the codex as well as a table of marginalia.
