Limonietum anfracti, a new association of the alliance Crithmo-limonion Mol. 1934

Sažetak
A new association is described as follows: Limonietum anfracti Ass. nov. [Syn. Plantagini-Limonietum cancellati H-ić 1963 p. p., non H-ic (1934) 1939] of the alliance Crithmo-Limonion Mol. 1934, order Chrithmo- Limonietalia Mol. 1934, and class Crithmo-Limonietea Br.-Bl. 1947.
Current investigations allow the conclusion that the centre of distribution of this halophilous plant community of coastal clifs is in the southern region of the eumediterranean zone of the Illyrian-Adriatic coast-line where we have examined it, especially in the wider surroudings of Dubrovnik. It has so far been found in numerous localities south of the Neretva river estuary (Fig. 1).
In that region it replaces — as a geographic vicariant — the association Plantagini-Limonietum (Staticetum) cancellati s. s. H-ić (1934) 1939, non 1963, which is spread more to the north. It represents yet another phytogeographic feature of the southern coastline, in addition to those pointed out by Horvatic earlier (1957, 1963 b) as specific characteristics of that region.
