Acta Botanica Croatica is an international journal that publishes original articles in plant sciences, from the molecular level to ecosystems. It is published twice a year. There are no publication fees for authors. The journal was founded in 1925, originally entitled Acta Botanica Instituti Botanici Regalis Universitatis Zagrebensis. Since 1957, it has been published under the name Acta Botanica Croatica. Aims and Scope The journal covers all major fields of plant biology: botany, algology, mycology, bacteriology and plant virology, including floristics, taxonomy, ecology, cytology, physiology, cytogenetics, molecular biology, and paleobotany. Manuscripts focusing on the lowland and karstic areas of southern Europe, karstic waters, other types of freshwater, and the Adriatic (Mediterranean) Sea are particularly welcome. The journal has an international editorial board and an international review process for manuscripts written exclusively in English. Indexing Acta Botanica Croatica is included in major abstracting and indexing services such as Scopus and Web of Science – Science Citation Index Expanded. IF 2020: 1.051; IF 2021: 1.020; IF 2022: 1.3; IF 2023: 1.1; IF 2024: 0.7 5-year IF: 1.2. Former Editors-in-Chief: V. Vouk (1925-1956), S. Horvatić (1957-1968), Lj. Ilijanić (1969-1992), Lj. Marković (1992-1998), D. Viličić (1998-2013), B. Salopek Sondi (2013-2018) and N. Jasprica (2018-2025). Financially supported by the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of the Republic of Croatia, and the Foundation of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
