Syntaxonomic Analysis of Pasture Community Festuco-Koelerietum splendentis H-ić 1963 of the Eastern Adriatic Littoral

Sažetak
The pasture community known under the name of »Festuco-Koeleri- etum splendentis« in the form such as described and defined by Hor- vatic (1963), according to the valid rules of the syntaxonomic code is neither validly described nor are its characteristic species correctly determined.
A taxonomic analysis of the most important species indicated by Horvatić as characteristic of the as. Festuco-Koelerietum splendentis has shown that the taxon designated as ».Festuca duriuscula var. paliens subvar. curvula« from the nomenclatural aspect presents a »nomen confusum«. The plant from the island of Pag known under that name belongs to the stenoendemic species Festuca lapidosa (Markgraf-Dannenberg 1975) and has not been noted in any stands of »Ass. Festuco- -Koelerietum splendentis«. Similarly, the plant designated by the name of »Festuca pseudovina« does not belong to any Pannonic species of F. pseudovina, but to the endemic illyrian-adriatic species of F. illyrica (Zi. Pavletić 1989).
Consequently, the community designated by the name of »Festuco-Koelerietum splendentis« is described under the new name and in the new combination of species — Ass. Koelerio-Festucetum illyricae Trinajstić, nom. et comb. nov.
Similarly, the community in which on the island of Brač the species F. lapidosa predominates is described as the new association Bromo-Fes- tucetum lapidosae Trinajstić, ass. nov.
