Sažetak
In medieval times Kalnik Prigorje boasted a network of fortified bell-towers in Kalnik, Sveti Petar Orehovec, Gornja Rijeka and Visoko, as well as forts built on the inaccessible and steep cliffs of Veliki Kalnik, Mali Kalnik and Čanjevo. While the churches with fortified bell-towers (often remodeled during the Baroque period) have withstood the test of time, the dilapidated forts have long been abandoned. Rare architectural decoration has been preserved in the churches, as well as the forts. The author presents previously unknown and unpublished specimens, which he discovered by comparing them to the published ones. Some specimens require detailed research because of their similarity (all faces from Visoko, Visoko–Rudina, Mali Kalnik–Visoko, Gornja Rijeka–Križovljan), while some corroborate the presumptions about the quality of construction activities at the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century (Mali Kalnik).
