Sažetak

This article poses the question of what constitutes the uniqueness of human being, according to Edith Stein’s analysis of experience. Through her analysis of experience, Stein seeks to justify the reality of human soul, which she also takes to be central in regard to human uniqueness. The uniqueness of singular human being is grounded in his/her personal core. The uniqueness of human being is manifested in his/her capacity for reflection, which is a part of cognition. Knowledge is formed within a language different from the signals of animals. That means the animals lack intentionality and free choice. All experience is personal in character. Through and in this, the uniqueness of each human being is manifested.
