Polarographic Determination of Uranium in Blood

Sažetak

A polarograiphic method has been developed for the determination of uranium in blood. Blood is destroyed with nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide and the uranium extracted with tetra hydropyrane in a micro liquid-liquid extractor. The polarographic determination is performed in a supporting electrolyte containing 0.16% salicylic acid, 0.4% v/v sulphuric acid, and 0.009 % thymol. The method is applicable to the determination of uranium in blood in amounts ranging from 5 μg upwards.
