Abstract
The neutron component of the hardened bremsstrahlung beam of a 42 MeV betatron has been examined. Using nuclear emulsions as radiator and detector both the gamma ray intensity as well as the neutron spectrum and fluence have been measured and dose equivalent for the fast neutron contamination of the beam has been deduced.
