Abstract

The problem of quasi-stationary spectrum of a hydrogen-like atom near a metal surface is considered. A method for solving the corresponding boundary-value problem is applied which provides asymptotically exact result for the complex eigen-energies. The physical implications of the calculated quasi-stationary spectrum are discussed.
