Sažetak
The Technical Department, founded in 1994, marks its 30th anniversary of work as part of the Museum of Slavonia, the largest general museum in Croatia. The work of the Department, consisting of 19 collections with items from everyday life and work experience, is showcased through activities of collecting, scientific processing, preservation, and presentation of museum artifacts. The Tehnical Department, during the time of tehnological milestones, collects tehnological objects affected by the process of fast and sudden changes. The collections are developed and expanded through donations, purchases, grants, and field research.
Thanks to similar items from different periods, most collections have a typology that can be followed in typewriters and calculators, radio receivers, projectors, cameras, cinematographic techniques, irons, vacuum cleaners, kitchen scales, grinders, shaving devices, sewing machines, gramophones, and telephones.
The items of the Technical Department are presented in independent exhibitions, group exhibitions of the Museum of Slavonia, and exhibition projects with other institutions. Over the past thirty years, the fund of technical collections has become a significant regional guardian and promoter of technical heritage, both in terms of content and quantity.
