The calculus of the absorptivity of an oxide-metal system by powerful CO2 laser irradiation of metallic samples in air

Abstract

A rather simple equation is derived relating the optical absorptivity of a metal-oxide system on the oxide and metal optical constants and on the thickness of the oxide layer growing on the metallic surface during the powerful CO2 laser irradiation in air.
