The Party of Rights in Križevci in the late 19th and early 20th century: a contribution to the political history of Križevci

Sažetak
In this paper the author uses analysis of literature,
press and archival materials in order to provide an
overview of the history of the Party of Rights in Križevci
and the Križevci area in the late 19th and early 20th
century. In doing so, he primarily used the parliamentary
elections held from 1881 to 1913 as orientation
points, and then the elections for the Križevci city council.
In this paper, the author has devoted special attention
to individuals, prominent individuals in the rightwing
milieu of Križevci and the surrounding area. By
following their evolution towards the Party of Rights or
withdrawing from the Party of Rights in this period, the
author has attempted to outline the vibrancy of the
Križevci political scene in the pioneering era of Croatian
civil society.
