Sažetak
The new folk architecture in Croatia is today the architecture of rural farm and service buildings. Two tendencies are at work: in contrast to the pretensions "newly-composed" architecture of dwelling houses a unimposing and well moderated architecture of service houses is in a process of appearing. The traditional architecture reached its high range equally in dwelling houses and in service houses. This tendency was stopped under the influence of the professional building practice and in the legal regulations that followed this practice. The regulations obligated the builders to purchase the permissions for building and projects for houses this intruded practice brought, in the time spreading over the villages, the illness of simplified and superficially understanded and degenerated modern movement in architecture.
In the architecture of farm and service houses new materials initiated a new development with a great number of original solutions. Architects - nonprofessionals found a new expression here, and we can say, found their way in architecture again. No one of the authors of the here presented houses presumably newer saw, even on pictures, well designed works of modern architects. In their yards, those autodidact masters of architecture, solve lead by their instincts, complex problems and produce values that can compared with the achievements of the best professionals.
In the same time the same masters are tragically lost in their clumsy decorating and influence of incapable professionals when they search for solutions for their homes.
