THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF TEACHERS IN UNIVERSITY: PRESENTATION OF A METHODOLOGY FOR THE EDUCATION OF NEW REFLEXIVE PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS TROUGH A TEAM-WORKING & COOPERATIVE APPROACH

Abstract
This study is intended to describe the methodology and the instruments utilized for the Professional Training of the students attending the Faculty of Science of Education of the Trieste University with special regards to the activity of its Department for the Training Supervision. The fundamental training activities developed during the 4 years of University are based on the reference theories and on the methodology reported below which have been selected by the Supervisors in accordance with the theoretical model that they have developed to plan the 4-years training experience: 1st Year: Analysis of Student's attitude and Social Representation; direct on-field observation of the children attending the class and final relevant written protocols 2nd Year: Structured on-field observation and data collection based on peculiar frameworks specifically drafted by the Supervisor's Team; drawing up of mind maps, pupils knowledge survey through clinical interviews (during Kindergarten and Primary School respectively) 3rd year; Educational methods, conceptual planning and construction of a working-unit in the school 4th year: Working-unit planning of a selected and specific subject, drawing up of detailed documentation and self-assessment of the whole training program; In conclusion the funding theories based on which are planned all the Supervision Activities and the choice of the tools utilized by the Supervisors are the followings: Process Learning Theory; The Constructivist Theory applied either to the training activity performed in the school or to the survey and the evaluation of the training itself; The Group and Cooperative Learning Theory in executing the Survey of the whole training path The Anthropological Theory mainly utilized in documenting the Training Process This study shows that the above training methodology allows to reach interesting results with the development of specific skills of self-observation and self-analysis that the Students were shown to apply in their daily teaching activities inside the school and describes the transverse skills activated by the co-operational development of the working methodology inside the Training Supervision Group, Finally, Key Indicators are presented showing the after-training performance of the Students trough the analysis of their final reports.
