Sažetak
In this article the author defines the role and place of the catechist employed in school and his engagement in the parish community. It begins describing the relationship between school religion classes and parish catechesis. It puts the catechist in the context of school in which he, according to his evangelical mission, isn’t directed only for work with children. He is called to suggestively and evangelically operate with his colleges, other school employees, parents and after class activities. Before a catechist becomes a catechist, and begins his official catechetical office in the name of the Church with his canonical mandate, except becoming by the sacrament of baptism a member of the society of the church like all of the faithful, he, with the sacrament of Chrism is called to responsibly participate in the life of his concrete parish community. In this context, the author agrees that his original place of action as a christian is the parish community in which he lives. This is why his engagement in this community is unquestionable. The author states various problems that the catechist encounters and gives various suggestions how to and how much, depending on the circumstances, engage in the parish community.
