Sažetak
In this article, Conrad Paul Liessmann’s theory of uneducated perspective is being examined. His hypothesis states that personality development is the only worthwhile aim of education. This aim of education is attainable only by education, whereas nonformal education can lead to its annulment.
A scientific evaluation of these theses shows that the formation of personality is not the only aim; there are other aims, so called external educational objectives. External and internal aims may or may not invalidate each other. The statement that the cognitive development of personality is achieved only through education is disproved, since crystallized intelligence develops during the lifespan, through lifelong learning.
The influence of various educational formats on moral personal development is examined. This confirms that formal education advances moral reasoning, but not necessarily morality in the sense of internalized values and moral behaviour. Moral thinking is improved mainly by education, while lifelong noninstitutional socialization (experiential learning) may substantially diminish the achieved educational effects of education. With this, the part of Liessmann’s theory which relates to moral development is only partially verified.
