Sažetak

In this study we tried to establish the possibility of real semantic priming between different codes of the visual modality (verbal and pictorial). Prior research demonstrated the possibility of priming between codes using conceptually identical primes and targets (word cat, and picture of a cat). By modifying the experimental paradigm used in similar research, we tried to show the effects of semantic priming between words and drawings corresponding to semantically related but not identical concepts. Results show that it is possible to show the effects of pure semantic priming even when using semantically related words and pictures. Results are interpreted in accordance with the predominant theory of spreading activation through the semantic network even between the codes.
