Sažetak

This article contains all the relevant elements regarding mortars: the types of mortars, their application, their marks and strength; the composition of mortar; part 1 EN 998: plastering mortar; part 2 EN 998: brickwork mortar; the procedures for testing mortars and instruments used for testing.
Due to the fact that the articles which would address all of these elements are seldom found, the author’s intention was to give the end user an integral view of this topic, together with the relevant information regarding the Construction Products Directive, or valid labeling of products prior to their release in the open market, specifically mortars with the CE label.
