The Coinage from Čitluk (Aequum) and Jasensko kept in the Regional Museum in Sinj

Sažetak
The article surveys the examples of coinage from the Numismatic collection of the Regional Museumthat originate from the villages of Čitluk and Jasensko near Sinj. Čitluk was the only Roman colony inthe inlands of the province of Dalmatia founded during Claudius’ rule. Majority of coins represent theones dating from the late 1st century BC to the 5th cent AD. The largest number of examples is datedin the period of late antiquity. Numidian coinage is represented by the rare example of the silverdenar of King Juba I minted between 60 and 46 BC. The hoards prove that these coins were used fordecades after Numidia had become a Roman province. The latest coin is the anonymous Byzantinefolis emitted during the 11th century from the mint in Constantinopolis. It represents one of the rarefi ndings that witness the life of former Roman town in the period of the early Middle Ages.
