Sažetak

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of applying different levels of corn on production traits of female broiler chickens of Cobb 500 TM, food consumption and the costs of the production. The experiment consisted of 150 day-old female broiler chickens of Cobb 500 TM, divided into three groups of 50 chickens, one control group and two experimental groups. In the first three weeks, all groups were equally fed a starter mixture. After three weeks of age and transition to the finisher mixture, control group fed a feed mixture, which was a combination of full fat soybeans and corn. The first experimental group was fed a feed mixture, which was a combination of corn, corn grits and full fat soybeans and the second experimental group a feed mixture, which was a combination of full fat soybeans and corn grits. The use of corn grits did not affect fattening performance, carcass and significant parts (breasts, thighs with drumsticks, backs with necks) of female broilers Cobb 500 TM but corn grits reduced the cost of kg feed, and feed conversion (kg / kg ) increased as the share of corn grits in feed mixture became larger. Consequently, the aforementioned cost of production of kg gain decreased.
