Fortification of milk with physiological concentrations of zinc and iron

Abstract
Simultaneous fortification of milk with physiological doses of zinc (12 μg/ml) and iron (25 μg/ml) decreased Zn-65 but not Fe-59 absorption from the gastrointestinal tract of six-week old female rats indicating an alteration in the specificity of zinc binding ligands in the presence of both zinc and iron.
