Sažetak

In this paper the phenomenon of upbringing of adults within the context of socialization has been discussed. To this end terms learning, education, upbringing and experiential learning have been operationally defined.
Different forms of learning have been described and it has been explained why all forms of learning are not equally successful for learning of cognitive, emotional and motivational components of the learning content. The reasons why school is more educating that it is bringing up and why learning affective contents is more difficult for adults than it is for the children and the youth, have been stated. It has been explained why, in spite of that, in situations when they are dependent, the adults are learning new values, attitudesand habits and are changing the existing ones as efficiently as the youth. A conclusion has been made that it is difficult to bring up (again) the adults, but that they are efficiently learning values, attitudes and habits through non- educational socialization. The effects of non-educational situation can annul the results of the earlier upbringing.
