Regulation of ship hypotheque in the Republic of Croatia

Sažetak
This paper represents an analysis of the Croatian law regulating the institute of ship hypotheque. In this context the author points out changes in national law which are introduced by new 2004 Croatian Maritime Code (2004 MC). The most important innovation - creditor's power concerning private sale of the mortgaged ship - is particularly elaborated. Relevant rules of the 2004 MC are also comparing with foreign laws and judical practice.
