Sažetak
The efficacy of biomechanical instrumentation performed with 4% NaOCI and 3% FLO-» was analyzed in the clinical material consisting of 85 teeth with Parodontitis apicalis, i. e. 190 samples. The inoculum was collected from the radicular area of the pulp by means of dry cellulose picks. The material was placed for four hours on glucose builion,Thyoglicolate buillon and Saboraund agar while microorganisms were isolated and identified by standard microbiological methods. In the final cultivation the negative finding was obtained in 81.18% of cases, while Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus faecalis var. faecalis were the most difficult to eliminate. The positive finding of the final cultivation was limited to more severe endodontic cases which indicates that the microbiological analysis of the root canal does not show only the efficacy of the biomechanical instrumentation but also severity of periapical pathological processes. As repeated positive cultivations were more frequent in salivary contamination of the dentin and pulp it is desirable to reduce the drainage only to cases of acute ostitic processes.
