Sažetak
Institute of Archaeology carried out an archaeological survey on the area of the construction of five water wells south of Osekovo in Moslavina.
The archaeological survey performed at the area of the construction of the northernmost well revealed the position of a medieval site, rectangular earthen fortification with numerous findings and possible well-built accompanying infrastructure in the general vicinity, not visible on the surface. Ceramic and metal finds date the fortification to the 15th and 16th century. During the explorations, the techniques of remote interpretation via the satellite images (Google Earth) were used, and also the browser with aerial footage that is used in agriculture (ARKOD) for better and more accurate definition of the character of the site. The discovered earthen fortification fits into the fortification system of the defence against the Turks in the area of Northern Croatia. Apart from its scientific and cultural-historical value, it also carries a great landscape value, which will further enhance the area of the Popovača municipality, and certainly contribute to its further development.
