Overview of the selected leadership approaches and their application in modern organizations

Sažetak
This paper gives the definition of leadership. The relationship between leadership and power is defined as well as the leadership domain that consists of three elements – leader, follower and situation. A few different leadership approaches are considered, with an emphasis on their application in modern organizations. These are as follows: the approach based on leader's qualities; the approach based on leader's skills; the approach based on style; situational approach; transformational leadership; path-goal theory; and some newer leadership styles (training, supreme leadership, leading by serving, entrepreneurial leadership).
