Contemporary ethnography as an integrative methodological approach: theorethical and methodological contributions to socio-cultural research

Sažetak
In its, beginning, ethnographic research is mainly based on fi eld
work in geographically distant and exotic culture, with emphasis on the study of small communities. In this sense, early ethnographic research referred to social relationships, religious beliefs and in general, contents and forms of cultural and social organization distinct from those of the researchers. During the time, ethnography has met its updates so that the fundamental goal of the work, indicating
the contribution of contemporary and ethnographic research approaches, which now includes both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Respectively, methodological area complements to those theoretical concerning refl exivity and related forms of personal knowledge. Such a methodological approach is a response to the current position of the subjects that bring new issues and set new
challenges, promoting contemporary ethnographic research in the direction of overcoming the sheer dimensions of recording and playback, the current reading and understanding the socio-cultural practices.
