Sažetak
DSM-IV defines developmental coordination disorder (DCD) as impairment in the development of motor coordination that interferes with activities of daily living and academic achievement, which is not a consequence of intellectual disability, pervasive developmental impairment or medical condition in general. Terminology is still diverse. Etiology is being investigated. It is estimated that 5-8% of the
children have DCD. Clinical picture is different from child to child; difficulties can be present in gross or fine motor activities, or they can be generalized. DCD is often present together with other developmental difficulties. There are several therapeutical approaches that can be divided into process-oriented therapy and task-oriented therapy. DCD is underdiagnosed that as a consequence has absence of intervention. It is very important to educate medical and educational professionals, as well as public in general.
