Abstract
The Croatian Employment Service (CES) has recognized the importance of entrepreneurial competence development through development of career management skills (abbr. CMS). The CMS development has been for the most part encouraged through career guidance services for pupils and students, and especially through the services of professional group counselling and informing of unemployed persons/job seekers. The lifelong career guidance model, which is implemented by the CES, is in line with the relevant European strategies and guidelines in the area of education, employment and career management. The basis of this model is a partnership and multidisciplinary approach which integrates strategic planning, measures and activities which are carried out in collaboration with all labour market stakeholders at the national, regional and local level. Full membership in the European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network (abbr. ELGPN) represents a special acknowledgement to the Republic of Croatia and Croatian Employment Service, whereby the Croatian Employment Service has been appointed as national co-ordinator for the Network activities in the area of career guidance policy and system development.
