Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise in Croatia Focusing on Family Business

Sažetak

Small and medium entrepreneurship in Croatia represents one of the leading economic sectors that has a positive effect on overall employment rate and overall economic growth. EU countries as well as the other modern countries have recognized the importance and advantages that the small and medium-sized enterprises have on overall economic development. Croatia has recognized the importance of entrepreneurship during the last decade. Family entrepreneurship represents a special area of small entrepreneurship in Croatia. This paper presents core characteristics of entrepreneurship in Croatia, defined as family enterprise, along with its features, with special interest on some of the more important characteristics of family entrepreneurship.
