Integral Approach to Enhancement of Soundscape in Urban Open Space

Sažetak

An integral approach to the enhancement of urban design and a proper soundscape is important on the level of parallel integration of an acoustic concept into the urban design idea and on the level of a holistically conceived phenomenon of sound in an urban open space which includes both unwanted (noise) and wanted sounds. The paper explores the development of noise mitigation and the existent models for the implementation of the integral approach to the enhancement of urban design and a proper sonic environment.
