Sažetak
Regulation of appetite is very complex since it involves a large number of organs and their hormonal molecules. Digestive system with more than 40 hormonal molecules is the largest endocrine organ that is involved in appetite regulation. Considering the mode of action on appetite digestive hormones can be divided on appetite stimulators: ghrelin (hunger hormone) and obestatin, and appetite suppressors: cholecytokinin (CCK), hormone PYY3-36, oxyntomodulin (OXM), GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide 1) and PP hormone and digestive hormones which are indirectly involved in appetite regulation: secretin and gastin. Disorders in the secretion of these hormones are present in diabetics and obese people.
