Sažetak

A new association of grassland vegetation, named Crepido conyzi- foliae-Molinietum altissimae, has been recorded in the area of Homoljac Field at the south-western boundary of the Plitvice Lakes National Park (Fig. 1). The association belongs to the class Nardo-Callunetea.
The floristic composition of the association has been determined on the basis of phytocoenological records (Table 1) and compreses 82 species. The association is characterized by the following species: Crepis conyzi- folia, Molinia arundinacea var. altissima, Hieracium umbellatum and Lembotropis nigricans (Table 1). Two subassociations are distinguished within the association: Crepido conyzifoliae-Molinietum altissimae typi- cum and Crepido conyzifoliae-Molinietum altissimae prunelletosum gran- diflorae. The subassociation typicum is poorer in species (30—39 species), develops on deeper soil and level ground.
At the sites of this subassociation, the soil reaction (pH) ranges from 4.3 to 4.9. The subassociation prunelletosum grandiflorae develops on shallow soil and on undulating terrain of the area. The soil reaction at the site of this subassociation amounts to 5.1—5.9 (6.1). Such site conditions are clearly reflected in the number and density of differential species growing on the areas under the subassociation (Table 1).
