Sažetak
The importance of quality and controlled food products are becoming aware of consumers around the world. People increasingly understand the importance of Muslim demands for ritual clean food, as evidenced by the fact that the market of halal products is the market with a growing base of consumers today. Therefore, it is not surprising that the demand for the products manufactured according to Sharia law is each year bigger and bigger and among the non-Muslim consumers. In the area of Croatia, label halal can be given for food, cosmetics, drugs, products for general use and restaurants if they are certifi ed by the Center for Halal Quality Certifi cation of the Islamic Community in Croatia with headquarter in Zagreb. The process of obtaining the halal certifi cation process is established Halal Quality Certifi cation, which is an integral part of halal standards. There were 43 companies certified in 2013 in Croatia, mostly in the food industry that produced about 2000 products with halal certification. Of these companies, little more than a dozen are restaurants and hotel establishments. A small number of tourism professionals recognized perspective of halal off er in Croatia, despite the fact that Croatia has the willingness and advice for standardization of halal industry.
